Volunteer with the Baysville Horticultural Society

Volunteering with the Baysville Horticultural Society is a rewarding way to give back to your community while making new friends and helping keep Baysville beautiful. Whether you enjoy gardening, organizing events, welcoming visitors, or lending a hand wherever it's needed, there's a place for you on our team. No gardening experience is necessary, just a willingness to get involved and make a difference.

Our volunteers meet throughout the year for community projects, Society events, and monthly meetings at the Baysville Seniors Centre. The busiest time of year is from spring through fall, when we're planting and maintaining public gardens, caring for the Community Gardens, and preparing for the annual Baysville Arts & Crafts Festival. There are also opportunities to help during the winter with planning, workshops, holiday events, and serving on the Society's Executive Team.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Help guide the future of the Society by planning events, supporting community beautification projects, and sharing ideas at our monthly Executive meetings. This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with others and making a lasting impact on the community.

  • Our annual Arts & Crafts Festival is our largest event of the year and relies on volunteers to make it a success. Help with festival setup and teardown, welcome visitors, assist at donation gates, or support the event throughout the weekend in early August.

  • Roll up your sleeves and help plant, weed, water, and maintain the beautiful public gardens throughout Baysville. Volunteers also assist with building and expanding Community Garden plots and seasonal beautification projects.

  • Throughout the year we host guest speakers, workshops, garden tours, and community events. Volunteers help with setup, refreshments, welcoming attendees, and ensuring each event runs smoothly.
